Set Sail with Disney!

I’m so excited to tell you about the ultimate combination of magic and relaxation for a family vacation … Disney Cruise Line! I’m a Disney parks lover, but let’s be honest sometimes a trip to the theme parks means everyone is exhausted and tired when they get home and you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation. Sailing with Disney is quite the contrary. Imagine a trip where your kids get to see all the characters they’ve dreamed of, have an absolute blast swimming and playing on the slides and beaches, adults get one on one time and you get quality family time together too. Sounds like a dream right?!

IT IS! But it’s one you can bring to reality onboard one of Disney’s 5 incredible cruise ships.

Disney cruise line offers a variety of itineraries sailing out of ports like San Diego, Galveston, New Orleans, New York, Fort Lauderdale, Miami and Port Canaveral. Each port offers unique destinations with some of the most popular being to the Bahamas to visit Disney’s own private island, Castaway Cay. No matter which sailing you choose, your family is in store for a great time. Whether you’re splashing in the pools, watching a movie in the theater or seeing the Broadway quality shows on stage each night there’s always so much fun to be had on board the ships.

My boys LOVED the kids club and asked to go back constantly. This was a huge win for us, each night they opted to eat dinner and hang out with buddies in the kids club. They got to play games with cast members, visit with characters, play video games and do arts and crafts while my husband and I had a chance to have dinner alone. After dinner, we’d pick them up for shows, ice cream and more family fun time. Our favorite night was the pirate party and watching the fireworks from the deck…so cool!

I can’t let it go without saying that visiting Castaway Cay was definitely the icing on top of the cake for our trip. Not only is the island incredibly beautiful, but there’s so much fun already included when you arrive. We chose not to schedule any excursions for this day. My husband and I participated in the Castaway Cay 5K that morning, which was lots of fun as we are big runDisney fans. Then we grabbed the boys and set out to enjoy the island. We mostly spent the day playing on the beach and on the waterslides. The kids enjoyed a special dig site where you could go discover fossils and build Sandcastles with Mickey! The characters were all around the island in their best beachwear and there was rarely a line to meet them.

Overall, our Disney cruise line vacation was absolutely perfect and I cannot wait for the next one! If you’ve been thinking about a Disney cruise, and want to talk a little more, you can use this short form to get in touch with me!
